ATTICA, Ind. (AP) — A popular festival that's been a tradition in Attica for more than four decades is moving to Veedersburg amid concerns about theft allegations against a festival organizer.
The Journal & Courier reports the city began considering splitting with the Potawatomi Festival after former festival president and treasurer Kimberly Bower was charged with misappropriating festival funds in December.
Festival officials searched for a new site and found one in Veedersburg to host the event from Sept. 19-22.
Those wanting to stay closer to home can visit Attica Heritage Days. The new festival will be held downtown during the same weekend and will pay tribute to Attica native George D. Hay. He created the original Grand Ole Opry radio show.
