INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels has ordered that flags at theStatehouse and across the state be lowered to half-staff to markthe death of former Indiana Chief Justice Richard Givan.
Givan, who spent 26 years on the state's highest court, diedTuesday at age 88. He joined the Supreme Court in 1968 and becamechief justice in 1974. He stepped down as the court's leader in1987, but remained a justice until retiring in 1994.
The governor's office says flags will remain at half-staffthrough the day of Givan's funeral on July 28.

10 A.M. UPDATE: Snow is falling in several counties, particularly south of Indianapolis. Most areas of Central Indiana have seen 2 to 6 inches of snow, with higher totals south of I-70. Counties to the northwest and northeast have seen 1 to 3 inches of snow, with some areas seeing less than an inch.
