NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (WISH) - Three suspicious packages kept Indiana State Police busy overnight into Saturday morning, but the packages ended up being empty.
ISP officials from the Peru post said they spent about four hours in North Manchester investigating.
One package was left in a Dairy Queen drive-through, one was near a motorcycle at Manchester University and another was left in an alley.
It wasn't clear who was responsible or why they left the packages, though ISP officials said it was a possible copy cat situation after the Boston Marathon bombing.
No one was injured.
Staff at an Anderson women's shelter say they're thankful thieves didn't tamper with their heating system. But, they did get away with plenty of copper.
A northwest Indiana man has been found guilty of reckless homicide, criminal recklessness and 11 other counts in the hit-and-run death of a Lake County jail guard struck by a vehicle while jogging with co-workers.
As the year draws to a close, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard says he's still waiting for something he asked for back in March.
