INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Kinetrex Energy, a part of Citizens Energy Group, will soon provide liquefied natural gas to fuel UPS trucks in the Midwest.
Kinetrex officials along with Gov. Mike Pence and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard made the announcements Tuesday morning.
Liquefied natural gas costs 40 percent less than diesel fuel and reduces greenhouse emissions by more than 20 percent.
The Kinetrex fuel will be provided in March at five fueling stations at UPS hubs in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Missouri.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Central Indiana through Friday night. Southern counties will be under a winter storm warning beginning Thursday night through Friday night.
