TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Patients headed to the emergency room will be able to estimatehow long they'll have to wait to be seen through a new featureoffered by a western Indiana hospital.
Terre Haute Regional Hospital has launched three billboards onU.S. 41 that will display average wait times for the hospital's ER.Patients also can monitor the wait by checking the hospital'swebsite or sending a text message to 23000 and entering the message
The data are updated every 40 minutes based on the average forthe prior three hours.
CEO Brian Bauer says the effort is part of a hospital pledge tohave ER patients seen within 30 minutes of arrival.
