RILEY, Ind. (WISH) - The Riley Fire Department has completed damage assessments after a tornado touched down in Vigo County Thursday evening.
Dispatchers in Vigo County began receiving reports of a possible tornado touchdown in the area of US Highway 41 and Carlisle Road shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Personnel at the Riley Fire Department saw the tornado touch down west of the firehouse on SR 159, striking a nearby residence, according to a release.
No injuries were reported.
A winter weather advisory was issued for Wayne, Union, Switzerland, Ripley, Ohio, Franklin, Fayette and Dearborn counties on Saturday night.
