INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -- Anthem has announced it will invest $20 million in renovations at its downtown building in order to house new corporate offices.
The new offices will house over 2,600 employees.
There was thought that Anthem was planning on moving their headquarters to Atlanta, where they are currently constructing a new building in tech square.
Indianapolis has been home to Anthem since it was first established over 75 years ago.
The company's CEO released a statement:
"We are excited that our new headquarters will be a state-of-the art building that reflects our proud history and creates a dynamic work environment that will support our goal of leading our industry through continued growth, innovation, and, most importantly, providing a healthier future for all Americans."
Anthem remains the largest publicly traded company headquartered in Indianapolis.
