Police investigate body found in woods

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are conducting a death investigation after a passerby reported finding a body in a wooded area on the city’s northeast side. 

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 8100 block of East 38th Street — a stretch of woods near Franklin Road — around 6:47 p.m. Sunday and found a deceased person.

Detectives responded to the area and began looking for witnesses, according to a release.

The victim’s identity had not been released on Sunday night.
