Woman arrested in fatal June Fishers crash
FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – A woman was arrested in connection to a fatal June crash in Fishers.
According to the Fishers Police Department, an arrest warrant was issued for 56-year-old Deborah Sundstrom on Oct. 17. Sundstrom then turned herself into authorities at the Hamilton County Jail and has since posted bond.
On June Saturday, June 30, at approximately 10 a.m., officers responded to the the area of Brook School Road near Broadmoor Drive after police received calls about the incident.
Upon arrival, investigators discovered the crash between a woman driving an SUV and a bicyclist. The woman told investigators she was unable to see the man before the crash.
The bicyclist, 61-year-old Robert Lackey was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Sundstrom faces preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and operating while intoxicated endangering a person.
