YMCA hosts ‘Haunted Hustle’ fundraiser

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Halloween provided inspiration for a unique fundraiser to support cancer survivors.

The Jordan YMCA hosted their ‘Haunted Hustle’ Saturday night. Proceeds from the 5k run/walk benefit the center’s LIVESTRONG program.

“They are all going through the same thing,” said Anthony Ripley, Jordan YMCA’s wellness director.

“They might be in different stages of cancer. Some have already battled it and defeated it, and some people are going through the battle right now. I know each of them can lean on each other and we as a staff can support them,” Ripley said.

The Jordan YMCA’s LIVESTRONG program is available free to cancer survivors who need to regain physical and emotional strength after treatment.

Saturday’s benefit raised more than $13,000.
