BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A Brown County soccer player who collapsed at practice back in August is doing better.
Jacob Quackenbush, 15, of Nashville, was taken to the hospital in critical condition after collapsing during a soccer practice.
Brown County High School Superintendent David Shaffer announced some encouraging news about Jacob Wednesday.
Shaffer says Jacob is conscious, sitting, eating light foods, and speaking with family.
He says Jacob still has a long road ahead.
School officials said they were not sure whether there was some kind of underlying medical issue, or whether his collapse had to do with the heat of the day.
