INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Crews were on the scene of a crash in the 7200 block of Steinmeier Drive Saturday morning.
A car crashed into a garage on the northeast side just before 7 a.m.. One person was injured in the crash.
The couple who owns the home at the time of the crash. They say when they heard it, they had no idea what had happened.
"I was sleeping and i thought i heard an explosion. I asked my husband what it was and he said thunder. I said that wasn't thunder. So he came downstairs to see what happened.And then he came upstairs and told me there was a car in our garage," MIchal Sunderman said.
The driver of the car is the man who delivers their newspaper.
The male driver in his 60s told police he began to experience difficulty driving and hit the home.
Witnesses say the car started swerving about 2 blocks away as he was headed West on 72nd Place. Prior to hitting the home, the driver hit a stop sign and ran through 6 yards.
A medical condition is believed to be the cause of the crash.
The man was taken to the hospital. Officials have not released any information on the extent of the man's injuries.
A winter storm warning is in effect for most of Central Indiana.
