CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - A Carmel well tested positive for bacteria again, and officials warned people to stay away.
The Carmel Parks Department said its latest test showed coliform was in water from the Flowing Well on 116th Street near Gray Road.
The department said it was checking water lines and will be back at the well Thursday.
The well was closed last week after a test found E. coli and coliform in the water.
Inspectors said they discovered a break in the distribution line, which leads to public taps.
The well is expected to remain closed until at least next week as crews work to replace the pipes.
On Thursday, Carmel officials said someone had moved a barrier fence that was around the well. They said it's crucial that people do not drink the hazardous water or move the barriers.
9 P.M. UPDATE: The winter storm warnings have been canceled and most snow is coming to an end. The colder temperatures were starting to move into central Indiana.
Carmel has a voice in the climate change discussion.
It's been a busy 24 hours for road crews in Indiana. And for many south of Indianapolis, the work isn't close to being over.
