INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 5-year-old child was injured in a shooting Friday night on the city's north east side.
It happened at Three Fountains West near 42nd Street and Post Road just after 10 p.m. Officers were dispatched on reports of a person shot.
On the scene, officers found a 5-year-old who had been shot in the back, but was awake and breathing.
Police say the child was taken to Riley Hospital in good condition.
Police on the scene say a nearby car was hit by a stray bullet. It has been determined the shooting of the 5-year-old was accidental and related to the stray bullet.
