INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An attempted robbery turned deadly early Wednesday at a west side convenience store and gas station.
Shortly before 3 a.m., police were called to the Rickers BP at West 38th Street and North High School Road on a report of a person shot inside following an attempted robbery.
Police say the clerk on duty at the store, Evalide Ndiaye, was shot and later died at Wishard Memorial Hospital.
Around 3:45 a.m. police were called to a robbery of a Speedway Gas Station at East 71st Street and North Keystone.
Minutes later police involved in a pursuit of a car that matched the description of the suspect's vehicle.
The suspect vehicle led police on a chase down North Keystone Avenue and ended near East 38th Street.
Two suspects, a male and a female were apprehended after a brief foot chase. A third suspect, a man, was found around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of Temple Avenue. The driver suffered a minor injury when he attempted to flee from police and was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in good condition.
The suspects are Ryan Clark, Shayne Thompson and Jania Hudson. Clark was preliminarily charged with murder, robbery and resisting law enforcement. Thompson was preliminarily charged with murder, robbery, resisting law enforcement, theft and carrying a handgun without a license. Hudson's charging information was not immediately released.
Investigators say these suspects were believed to have also been involved in the earlier attempted robbery and shooting.
