INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Officials say it took firefighters an hour and a half to free a man trapped in his truck after it overturned on Interstate 74 Tuesday night.
Indiana State Police says the incident occurred on the Interstate 465 north ramp to I-74 east, just before 9 p.m.
The driver told police that he attempted to slow for the traffic that was ahead of him and his truck jackknifed, striking another vehicle in the process.
The semi flipped on its side trapping the driver under the steering column.
The 56-year-old driver out of North Carolina was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
