INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A damaged water hydrant created a gushing geyser that sent water shooting into the air on the city's south side early Tuesday morning.
Citizens Energy Group responded to the scene to make repairs on a 12 inch main that was broken.
According to Citizens, water in the area was shut off, affecting 70 customers on Hanna Avenue, Rural Street and Fetlock Drive.
Officials at the utility estimate it could be as late as noon or 1 p.m. before the water will be back on.
The east bound lane of Hanna Avenue was closed east of Rural Street to Fetlock Drive while repairs were being made.
