DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Danville officer Chris Gill was fired Saturday during a special police commission meeting after he plead guilty to domestic battery on his now ex-wife.
Gill was arrested by U.S. Marshals at the Indianapolis International Airport when he returned from Texas. He had violated his bail when he did not return his police issued gun and instead replaced it with another.
I-Team 8 has learned while Gill was in Texas, Danville police retrieved his department gear from his squad car. The rest was turned in by his father, Keith Gill, while his son was in jail. Gill's father is the former police chief who resigned amid the controversy.
Gill is also accused of arresting a man for driving under the influence even though his BAC was below the legal limit.
