GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) - A 6-year-old Greensburg girl donated more than 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love Monday.
Sophie Sullivan has been growing her hair out for almost three years, our partners at the Greensburg Daily News report.
Her hair will be used to make a hairpiece for child suffering from hair loss due to illness. Sophie said she was nervous, but also excited about cutting her hair short.
Sophie says she donated her hair because her older cousin has done so in the past and because "it is the right thing to do."
3 P.M. UPDATE: Snow began picking up a little bit in areas west of Indianapolis. Recent snowfall amounts indicate 10 inches in Vincennes, 6 1/2 inches in Martinsville, 7 1/2 inches in Bloomington and 5 inches in Seymour.
The cold weather and overnight snow created some extra work for crews on Georgia Street on Friday.
An era is ending. With buildings that in some cases date back nearly a century, the campus of Wishard Memorial Hospital will shut its doors Saturday morning.
