HANCOCK CO., Ind. (WISH) - A 12-year-old is still recovering at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health after an explosive device injured him.
Investigators say curiosity got the best of the 12-year-old Wednesday afternoon.
Captain Campbell, with Hancock County Sheriff's Department says the explosive device was a CO2 cartridge loaded with gunpowder.
According to Campbell, the 12-year-old will be in the hospital for a few more days. He did not release information about his injuries.
The child's father transported him to Hancock Regional Hospital Wednesday afternoon after the device went off at his home.
UPDATE 9:30 P.M.: I-69, I-70 and I-74 were reporting slick conditions. Indiana State Police were responding to several accidents on I-74 in Vermillion County.
