CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Fire officials in Connersville are investigating after a fatal fire in the city Tuesday.
According to Connersville fire investigators, the fire happened after 5 p.m. at a home on East 12th Street. Detectives say parents were in the basement of the home when they smelled smoke.
The parents quickly grabbed their 4-year-old child and got out of the house.
Firefighters found the body of a 2-year-old girl in the home. Officials have not yet released the name of the child.
The fire is under investigation.
