RUSHVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The Rushville city hydrants will be flushed Sunday, causing some water to turn red.
The city will being flushing the water system around 10 p.m. Sunday. The process should be complete by 6 a.m. Monday morning.
During that time, there may be red water, which mean there is a high amount of iron and manganese in the water. The water may stain clothing and has an unpleasant appearance.
The process is to ensure the water distribution system is clean and in good operating condition. It also removes rust and other particles that may have settled in the piping.
