INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An investigation is underway following the death of Shelbyville toddler Tuesday at an Indianapolis hospital.
Shelbyville Police Chief Bill Elliott tells 24-Hour News 8 his officers were called to the boy's home on Sgt. Wright Court around 11:48 p.m. Monday with word that he was not breathing.
Medics rushed the 22-month-old boy to Major Hospital in Shelbyville where doctors determined he needed to be flown to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in Indianapolis.
Elliott says the boy died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators are waiting on the outcome of an autopsy before being able to determine how the boy died.
