AVON, Ind. (WISH) - Avon police officials say the FBI was looking for two men believed to be involved in a Monday morning bank robbery.
Police say around 11 a.m. the Hendricks County Bank and Trust, 963 State Road 267, was robbed by two black men wearing masks. It is unknown whether or not the men are carrying weapons.
The two took an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a maroon van east on 10th Street. The vehicle was found in the El-Bethal Baptist Church driveway with an undisclosed amount of money and police say it was reported as stolen from Indianapolis.
They then switched into another car.
No injuries were reported.
Police say several area schools were on a soft lockdown with doors locked from the inside for about two hours. Students were not allowed outside for recess. Schools that were locked down were all Avon Community Schools, Sycamore School, Kingsway Christian Schools and Riverbirch School.
