MEDORA, Ind. (WISH) - The search for the remains of a Carmel teen that died after disappearing is off.
Police ended their search for 18-year-old Sullivan University student Andrew Compton on Friday. They had been searching a southern Indiana landfill in Medora.
Crews spent more than a week searching the landfill for Compton's remains. Gregory O'Byran was indicted in Compton's death. He pleaded not guilty in court on Friday.
While the search for the teen's remains is over, police say the investigation is ongoing.
Saturday morning, Wishard Memorial Hospital closed its doors.
As a tribute to veterans, the Indiana American Legion dedicated a new flagpole at the governor's residence on Saturday.
