A Geist woman was sentenced Wednesday after she pleaded guilty in a $2.5 million securities fraud scheme.
Dorothy Geisler pleaded guilty to one count of security fraud for the scheme.
A judge gave her one year of home detention, four years of probation, and 400 hours of community service.
The Secretary of State's office says Geisler sold investors stock to the company she worked for — Praxis Resource Partners.
She said it was worth $56, but actually issued investors stock worth only 36 cents per share.
There are 11 victims in the case, and some say they wish Geisler would have been sentenced to some jail time.
"She is not going to take my future away from me, or my life. And I am not going to spend any more time thinking about her," said victim Diana Batchelder-Boyd.
Geisler's assets will be liquidated, including a Picasso lithograph, Rolex watch, diamond and gemstone jewelry, a nearly $1 million Geist home, a boat and a car.
She still lives in her Geist home, but she has to move out by March 2. Then, all of her assets will be put up for public auction.
