INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The drought conditions are still found across central Indiana.
Forecast 8 Meteorologist Pamela Gardner says abnormally dry area has actually decreased by a very small percentage from last week, equaling 36.47 percent. The moderate area has crept into the northwestern corner of the state equaling 1.95 percent of the state.
Rainfall totaled 1.15" of rain for August, which is 1.98" below normal for the month.
There are slim rain chances in the forecast for the next week.
Last year at this time almost 40 percent of the state was under an exceptional or extreme drought with every part of the state being under some sort of drought condition.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Central Indiana through Friday night. Southern counties will be under a winter storm warning beginning Thursday night through Friday night.
