MARION, Ind. (WANE) — A 23-year-old Marion man died after being shot in the chest at his girlfriend's house early Tuesday morning.
According to Marion Deputy Chief of Police David Day, police were called to the home at the 3700 block of South Houck Street just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Police found Bernardino Guerrero dead from a single gunshot wound.
Guerrero's girlfriend told police a man broke into the house through the back door. Guerrero confronted the intruder and was shot. She said the intruder then ran back out the door he had broken into.
Day said there are currently no suspects and no motive for the homicide.
