LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Lafayette say one man has been arrested following a domestic dispute at an area apartment complex that prompted a call for the SWAT Team.
Officers were called to the Fowler Apartments in the 400 block of Ferry Street around 9:40 a.m. Sunday for a domestic dispute.
Police were told a female victim was held at gunpoint by a male suspect in the apartments and that the man was armed with a number of firearms, according to a release.
When officers arrived they secured the scene, met with the female victim and attempted to make contact with the man.
The Lafayette SWAT Team was called to the scene, after which the suspect surrendered at around 1:20 p.m., police say.
Police arrested 63-year-old Quay A. Edwards on preliminary charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement, and domestic battery. He was taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
Officers say the female victim refused medical treatment.
