INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Three firefighters were slightly injured while battling a house fire Thursday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the 2500 block of Southeastern Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. to the report of a residence fire.
Neighbors say the home has recently become vacant.
According to a release from the Indianapolis Fire Department, three firefighters were injured. Those injuries were slight.
Two suffered heat exhaustion due to current weather conditions. The third firefighter's injury was muscular, suffered after falling into one of several holes in the structure.
All three firefighters have been treated and released from the hospital.
Damages are estimated at $40,000. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by IMPD and IFD.
