INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein is in St. Vincent's Hospital after suffering a mild stroke on Friday.
According to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis website, Buechlein is resting comfortably at the hospital.
"He is alert and talking with his doctors and has been visiting with a few priests of the archdiocese," the website says.
While at home on Friday, the archbishop began feeling dizzy and called 911. Tests helped determine he suffered the stroke.
The archdiocese's operations are expected to continue as normal while Buechlein recovers. Buechlein asked for everyone's prayers.
Buechlein has had other health issues in the past few years, including Hodgkin's lymphoma, shoulder replacement surgery and surgery to remove a benign tumor from his stomach.
