INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - IFD officials say a child playing with a lighter lead to a fire at an apartment building Tuesday afternoon.
The fire broke out around 6:45 p.m. in the 5100 block of West 32nd Street. A mother and her five children were able to safely escape the home.
Fire crews were also able to rescue a family dog from the home.
Crews were able to have the fire under control within 20 minutes. However, about $10,000 worth of damage was left at the home.
