INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - In an effort to take precaution while heating homes, Citizens Energy Group and Indiana House Agency are giving out 400 carbon monoxide detectors to Section 8 residents.
The detectors will be distributed to Marion County landlords with Section 8 tenants on Wednesday.
According to a Citizens Energy release, carbon monoxide gas kills hundreds and hospitalizes 10,000 people each year.
Most of the state is under a winter storm warning until Saturday.
