INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 20 teams from three different states, including Indiana, are taking part in a Cricket Tournament on the city's west side.
The Indy Legends Cricket Club is hosting the event at Chuck Klein Softball Complex on Rockville Road.
Teams from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana are participating in the tournament. The matches started Saturday morning and will continue until midnight.
Organizers say Cricket is the second most popular game in the world.
"It's similar to baseball," said Dhaval Patel, Vice President, Indy Legends Cricket Club. "We play it on a baseball field, but groups are different. A simple difference I would say in baseball-pitcher. In cricket it's called a baller."
The tournament comes as the city prepares to build a Cricket field. Last month, the Board of Public Works approved the World Sports Park off Post Road.
The park facility will bring cricket, lacrosse, soccer and hurling to Indianapolis. Construction on the project started this month.
The complex should open late in the summer of 2014.
