INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Officers armed with shot guns were searching for a suspect in Fountain Square Friday after one person was killed in a shooting early Friday morning.
Police and violent crime units entered apartments for a possible in an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Hosbrook Street.
IMPD officers were sent to the complex around 3 a.m. Friday morning. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.
His identity was not immediately released.
Witnesses tell IMPD they heard a disturbance from the apartment shortly before the shooting. Eight children, toddler-age and older, were found in the home at the time of the shooting.
An autopsy of the victim was being performed Friday.
Officials are currently pursuing leads on this case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-8477.
