INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Secretary of State Connie Lawson collected more than 100 suits for Dress for Success' One Suit Drive.
Participants were encouraged to donate one suit, one blouse and one monetary gift to give Hoosier women the opportunity to approach a job interview in a professional manner. Lawson says this empowers women to move toward economic independence.
Other statewide offices took park in the drive. Donations were collected in Lawson's office and in spots around the Statehouse.
All donations will go to Dress for Success Indianapolis. According to a release, about 40 percent of the organization's annual suit needs are met through Send One Suit Week.
A winter weather advisory was issued for Wayne, Union, Switzerland, Ripley, Ohio, Franklin, Fayette and Dearborn counties on Saturday night.
