INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man serving an eight-year sentence for drug dealing escaped from a Department of Correction facility Tuesday night.
The IDOC Indianapolis Re-entry Educational Facility was put on lockdown after Tommy Thompson was found to be missing just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, IDOC said in a news release.
A warrant has been issued for Thompson's arrest, and local and state police departments were notified, IDOC said.
Thompson is described as a 6-foot-1-inch tall black man, with brown eyes, black hair and two visible tattoos: "Cobra - King of the Beast" on his upper right arm, and "Tiego" on his left wrist.
He had been serving time for a conviction on cocaine dealing. His earlies possible release date was July 20, 2014, IDOC said.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact their local police department or call 911.
