SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - Speedway Police are investigating after a toddler was found alone at a motel.
Police officials confirm that other guests of the motel found the 14-month-old wandering around. Those people took the child to the motel office, and police were called to the facility.
Officers arrived at the scene and the mother had returned within the hour.
The Department of Child Services was called in to care for the child while police investigated.
It wasn't clear whether the mother would be arrested or charged, or where she went without the toddler.
