INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police say a woman in her 20s or 30s was found dead outside on the city's east side following an overnight shooting.
Police responded to the area of 28th Street and Hawthorne Lane just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, on reports that shots had been fired.
Shortly before 5 a.m., homicide detectives were requested to investigate further into the incident. That's when officers say a woman was found dead in the area.
Detectives are waiting on a search warrant to look in a nearby home and waiting for daylight to collect more evidence.
