INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Veterinary surgeries will be on public display at the Purdue Extension exhibit at the Indiana State Fair beginning next week.
The exhibits and events will run Aug. 2-18 at various sites at the fairgrounds on the north side of Indianapolis. Four exhibits will be on display each day of the fair.
The surgery exhibit will provide 29 spay or neuter surgeries to prepare Humane Society pets for adoption.
Other exhibits will look at why popcorn pops, a guide for healthy eating, the roles of insects, preparing wild game, a look at this year's corn and soybean crops, and the 2013 Women in Agriculture awards.
Purdue Day on Aug. 9 will feature a texting-while-driving simulator and cricket spitting.
