INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two people were seriously injured after their motorcycles crashed with a car early Friday morning on the east side of Indianapolis.
Shortly after midnight police and emergency crews were called to East 30th Street and North Emerson Avenue on a report that a car had collided with two motorcycles.
Police say one of the motorcycles caught fire.
Two people were taken by ambulance to Wishard Hospital with what was described as very serious injuries.
At about that same time a third motorcycle reportedly crashed near that same scene.
However, investigators are treating the two accidents as separate incidents.
3 P.M. UPDATE: Snow began picking up a little bit in areas west of Indianapolis. Recent snowfall amounts indicate 10 inches in Vincennes, 6 1/2 inches in Martinsville, 7 1/2 inches in Bloomington and 5 inches in Seymour.
The cold weather and overnight snow created some extra work for crews on Georgia Street on Friday.
An era is ending. With buildings that in some cases date back nearly a century, the campus of Wishard Memorial Hospital will shut its doors Saturday morning.
