BOONE CO., Ind. (WISH) - Police officials were cautioning drivers to avoid a certain area in Boone County because of a deadly car crash Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said to avoid Ind. 32 near County Road 500 West because of a crash involving multiple vehicles that left one person dead.
Traffic was diverted at Ind. 32 and Enterprise.
According to police, a blue semi tractor trailer was heading westbound and attempted to stop abruptly to avoid hitting a slowing vehicle.
The blue semi then jackknifed, and a vehicle heading eastbound hit the semi, killing the driver instantly, police say.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Another semi, white, heading eastbound tried to stop, but hit the blue semi but missed hitting the car. A second car, a Dodge, then hit the white semi in the rear.
All three passengers of the Dodge were taken to the hospital.
A two-semi collision occurred to the east of the original collision due to not being able to stop in time, authorities say. No injuries were reported in that crash.
State Road 32 was reopened around 8 p.m.
A winter storm warning is in effect for most of Central Indiana.
It's very rare that a single person can reach across national, racial, and spiritual borders to bring such hope and healing.
Dispatchers with Indiana State Police say a vehicle left the roadway Thursday night off of Interstate 69.
