BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Excise Police arrested 93 people in Bloomington this weekend and 18 in Muncie.
Officers arrested 93 people on 129 charges in Bloomington. 56 people were arrested for underage possession or consumption of alcohol, 20 of those people were also preliminarily charged with possession of false IDs.
Four minors were also arrested for being in a tavern or liquor store. Officers say 17 adults were arrested for furnishing or providing alcohol to a minor. Other people were arrested or cited on 32 additional charges.
a 19-year-old man from Highland, Ind. was taken to the hospital by excise officers after testing a .257 percent BAC. He was later taken to the Monroe County Jail on preliminary charges of illegal consumption and public intoxication.
Excise police also arrested 18 people on 20 charges in Muncie.
10 people were arrested for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol on Friday, and seven others were arrested on Saturday. One individual was arrested for possession of marijuana.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct. Earlier Saturday, police say he was cited for illegal possession of alcohol. After officers told him to go home, they found the man in the middle of the street screaming obscenities.
After being given another verbal warning, he was seen a short time later trying to start a fight with a group of men at their home.
He was taken to the Delaware County Jail.
A winter weather advisory was issued for Wayne, Union, Switzerland, Ripley, Ohio, Franklin, Fayette and Dearborn counties on Saturday night.
Lawrence Police are investigating an overnight shooting in the 8800 block of Pendleton Pike. Police say the shooting happened around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
