BOONE CO., Ind. (WISH) - A car going the wrong way on Interstate 65 lead to a head on crash leaving three people injured in Boone County late Wednesday.
Boone County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a head on collision in the south lanes of I-65 just south of Lebanon around 11 p.m.
Investigators say for unknown reasons a 2003 Grand Prix was traveling the wrong way on I-65. That vehicle collided with an Indianapolis Airport Taxi heading south. The collision spread over three lanes of 65.
A third vehicle, a Dodge box van, struck the Airport Taxi as well.
The female driver of the wrong way vehicle was unconscious when deputies arrived. The driver and a male passenger were injured along with the taxi driver. All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene.
According to investigators, alcohol could be a factor in the crash, but is still under investigation.
Saturday morning, Wishard Memorial Hospital closed its doors.

A travel advisory put in place for Wayne County has been extended.
