MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - A Ball State University hearing panel has decided not to renew five charter schools' contracts.
Imagine Indiana Life Sciences Academy-East, Indianapolis, Imagine MASTer Academy, Fort Wayne, Imagine Schools on Broadway, Fort Wayne, Kenneth A. Christmon STEMM Leadership Academy, Richmond, Ind. and LEAD College Preparatory Charter School, Gary will not be renewed for the next school year. Their contracts will expire on June 30.
In January, the school notified seven schools that its charter would not be renewed.
The hearing panel reviewed each school's overall performance. All schools requested reconsideration although two withdrew their reconsideration requests.
BSU President Jo Ann Gora received the panel's recommendations and affirmed all recommendations.
