MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - 24-Hour News 8 has learned there were two police officers with experience in sexual assault investigations at Muncie Central High School the day a girl reported being raped in a bathroom stall.
Police say school officials waited too long before contacting police about the reported rape, and the officers working security that day say they weren't notified of the incident.
All security staff at Muncie Central High School are off-duty police officers. The security working the time of the rape were a Muncie Police detective and a Ball State University sergeant, and both officers had experience with sexual assault investigations.
Steven Moore, 16, is facing a Class B felony rape charge in connection to the November incident.
