CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A crash in Carroll County Saturday evening leaves a Logansport woman dead.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office responded to the call just before 5 p.m., our sister station WLFI reports.
Deputies said 27-year-old Sylvia Savoie of Logansport was traveling southbound on State Road 29 near 700 North, when for an unknown reason, her car went left of center.
Deputies said Savoie's car hit a semi-tractor head on. Deputies said the truck did not have an attached trailer, and was not carrying any cargo.
Carroll County Chief Deputy Tobe Leazemby said Savoie had to be extricated from her vehicle.
"She was transported initially to Logansport Memorial Hospital," said Leazemby. "Then, she was eventually flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne."
Deputies said Savoie was pronounced dead just before 8:00 Saturday evening by members of the Ft. Wayne Parkview Hospital staff.
The driver of the semi tractor, 51-year-old Kevin Hale of Fort Wayne, was uninjured and refused treatment at the scene.
