MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A head on crash in Madison County called for a medical helicopter to arrive to the accident scene.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson says a two vehicle crash happened Friday night on County Road 1100 North just west of County Road 100 East.
The Madison County Sheriff says a 17-year-old driver was driving a minivan when she became distracted and ran off the edge of the roadway.
The minivan then crossed over the center line and struck a Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the van was trapped and needed to be extricated by rescue crews. She was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital.
Two passengers in the van suffered various injuries including contusions, bruises and broken bones. They were all transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The driver of the Jeep and her two passengers suffered various injuries as well. They were also taken by ambulance.
