HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the drowning of a Marion man Sunday afternoon.
Dispatchers were reported to a possible drowning around 3:20 p.m. at the Salamonie Reservoir Beach.
Emergency crews arrived to the scene and learned 18-year-old Jordan Laute swam out past the roped barrier into deep water.
Officers say witnesses could not immediately identify that Laute was in trouble. Once it became evident, bystanders attempted to find him, but were unsuccessful, according to a release.
Conservation Officers located Laute at 6:15 p.m.
Carmel High School took over the Colts Complex for a night.
Avon Police Department and Avon Community School Corp. are investigating photos sent from female students to male students, police officials said.
