ELWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - Most residents in the city of Elwood are without water Thursday morning due to a water main break.
The water main break is at the intersection of 16th Street and Main Street (Ind. 28) in Elwood. Officials are currently on scene making repairs.
Main Street is currently closed between Anderson Street and 15th Street. The street will be reopened when crews are done working in the area.Elwood City Utilities have begun the process of restoring water service to the community.
Additionally, Elwood Community Schools and Head Start are closed due to the water main break. The Elwood Public Library will be closed for the first 4 hours of the day.
The city is now under a water boiling order. Residents are urged to boil their water before drinking or cooking.
